I stroll by the SoHo Ted Baker store almost every day, intrigued, but not venturing in because of the anticipation of sticker shock. But that very snowy day last week was an exception: it looked warm and cosy inside and there was a large 60% sale sign up on the window. Needless to say, within five minutes I had found these amazing leather biker pants, regularly $398.00, marked down to $148.00. They fit like a glove, and are a little less "punk" because of the panels of jersey down the legs, making them more jodhpur-like than motorcycle pants. The leather is buttery soft, and the jersey gives just the right amount of stretch. I'm going to happily wear them like my trusty leggings, tucked into boots for now, then with ballet flats as the weather gets milder. Sweet! Then, just as I was about to pay, I found this front pleat top, regularly $168.00, now $48.00. It's a perfect layering piece to wear with a blazer or cardigan. Could I get any luckier? Try your luck by stopping into the Ted Baker store at 107 Grand St, NYC, or visit their sale section online, you won't be disappointed!
ps. When I got home, I noticed that the leather pants had a small slash in the leather near the waistband, and another incision near the hem. Maybe that was the reason for the $250.00 discount? Hoping they weren't on final sale, I took them back the next day with my receipt, hoping for the best. The manager took one look and offered to exchange them for another pair from the stockroom. Voila! I was the happy owner of a pristine pair of leather pants, at a fantastic price, to boot! Kudos to Ted Baker on their fantastic customer service. I'll be back!
