Did you know that, according to folklore, May is the unluckiest month to marry in. Why, I hear you ask?
In Pagan times May was when the festival of Beltane was celebrated with outdoor orgies, which was considered an unsuitable time to marry. Also in Roman times both the festival of the dead and the festival of chastity were celebrated in May; again events which made May an unsuitable time during which to marry.
