Now that the sun has upped its ante with the arrival of spring, I'm feeling the need to add some serious SPF power to my morning skincare routine! Roaming the aisles at Duane Reade, this powder foundation literally jumped out at me, in its cheery pink and orange package with the words "SPF 50" emblazoned on the front of the package. It has a riffle of attributes that really appealed to me, too: hypoallergenic, fragrance- and paraben-free, and non-comedogenic (since I'm acne-prone). $14.99 and a hop and a skip later, I was home trying it on in front of the bathroom mirror with my fave Buki brush (I'll leave the rubbery sponge for on-the-go touch-ups). The powder is a little chalky to the touch, which I guess is to be expected since it is oil-free. The color selection is on the light side for this line, but I picked Natural Beige for my complexion, which is medium/light with yellow undertones. The powder gives a little bit of coverage, but after application, I could barely notice that I was wearing powder at all. And best yet, since I have oily skin, the powder seems to prevent the midday oiliness that's so typical for me. I've been wearing this Powder Foundation for almost two weeks now, and I've noticed that my skin is clearer with fewer breakouts, so the non-comedogenic attribute is working in my favor! You can find Physicians Formula Healthy Wear™ SPF 50 Powder Foundation at your local drugstore, or online. It's $14.99 at Ulta.
